On Jan. 24, the longtime social chair of Local 1600, Virginia Noel Johnson, was waked at the Hallowell and James Funeral Home. Many members of the union and friends and members of the family were present at the event. She was remembered as a woman with deep pockets for charity and always ready to support the Cook County College Teachers Union.
